Step-by-Step Vidhi
1. Set up the Ram Darbar (Rama with Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman) on a decorated chowki. 2. Perform abhishek with panchamrit followed by Ganga jal, then dress the idols in fresh clothes. 3. Offer tulsi leaves, sandalwood paste, roli, akshat and flowers, chanting "Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram" or the Ram Raksha Stotram. 4. Read or listen to the Ramayana/Ramcharitmanas, particularly the Bala Kanda passages describing Rama's birth. 5. At midday (Rama's believed birth time), perform a special aarti with conch and bell, and offer panjiri and fruits as prasad. 6. Distribute prasad to all present.
Auspicious Timing & Mantras
Performed on Chaitra Shukla Navami, with the main ceremony conducted at midday (Madhyahna Kaal), the believed exact time of Rama's birth. Chant the Ram Chalisa or Ram Raksha Stotram. Believed to bring righteousness, courage and family harmony.
