About this Festival

Vijayadashami celebrates Lord Rama's victory over the demon king Ravana. Enormous effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghanath are burned in public grounds. In Bengal, it marks the end of Durga Puja, with the immersion of Durga's idol.
